Have you ever wondered why some days at work just seemed to fly by, and fill you with joy and satisfaction? And yet other days - in the same job - felt like they would never end. What was the difference?

Well, it wasn't necessarily that the good days were easy or there was nothing much to do; quite the contrary. The 'good' days may have left you physically exhausted - but deeply, deeply satisfied.

It comes down to what really matters to you.

And we do mean: matters to you. "What matters to you", may be similar to one or two other people around you; but it is extraordinarily unlikely that what matters to you is exactly and precisely what matters to anyone else you know.

Now people will say things like, "well, who wouldn't get a buzz out of bringing the cows in for early milking" or "I bet there isn't anyone who wouldn't give their right arm to be doing what I am doing ..." [here in the design office / test facility / trading floor / showroom / cataloguing department / open prairie].

And they are genuinely surprised when no one agrees with them. But that is the thing: job satisfaction comes from the strangest places - but they tend to be all the things we are measuring for you with the Birkman Method Questionnaire.

You wouldn't be the first person to read their report and then say, "oh my goodness, that's why I loved that job when I was 18" or "I have never been as happy as I was, the summer I worked as a life guard" or whatever.

And the point is, while you probably don't want to go back to what you got paid a couple of dollars an hour to do when you were 15, we are going to be able to distill, exactly why that worked for you - and then help you find the options that will bring you closest to that sweet spot again today.

Because, to be honest - that is our sweet spot!
